Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has broken his silence on the ‘green and gold scarf’ footage and the anti-Glazers protests, MySportDab reports.

After Manchester United’s narrow Premier League victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford, a viral footage has been making the rounds.

In the footage, Erik Ten Hag could be seen picking up and waving the ‘green and gold scarf’ used by protesting Manchester United fans.

Erik Ten Hag’s gesture was greeted with cheers by Manchester United fans at Old Trafford after the Aston Villa game.

The fans had taken the protest to the Theatre of Dreams asking the Glazers to leave the club.

The ‘green and gold scarf’ was used by the fans to depict the club’s glory days which the Glazers have brought to rubble under their reign.

After Erik Ten Hag picked and wave the scarf, there have been speculations already he is on the side of the fans protesting for the exit of the Glazers.

Now, in an exclusive report by the Sun, Erik Ten Hag has broken silence on the anti-Glazers protests and rumours making the rounds after ‘green and gold scarf’ footage.

Ten Hag said;

“We felt the fans were behind us.

“When we keep performances like we do all season the fans are behind us, there’s a lot of energy.”

Ten Hag has not been outspoken about the calls by fans for Manchester United ownership to change hands.

He has maintained his professional stance but sources close to the Dutch gaffer have revealed Ten Hag favors a takeover deal that will make more funds available for the club for him to recruit more players and continue in his rebuilding effort.

We understand the change of ownership at Manchester United is imminent with Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly ahead of his rival Shiekh Jassim to take over as the new owner.

Manchester United fans’ recent protest seems to have stemmed from the fact that Jim Ratcliffe is leading the race to take over the club.

Ratcliffe’s £5bn takeover bid for Manchester United is unpopular with Manchester United fans since it still want to keep the Glazers at the club unlike Sheikh Jassim’s offer.
