PSG have reached agreement with former Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, for the vacant managerial job, MySportDab reports.
The French Ligue 1 side have reportedly settled key details of Luis Enrique’s contract terms to appoint him as the new manager of the club soon.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Luis Enrique has accepted the offer by the French Champion but there are some aspects of the deal that has to be thrashed out.
Luis Enrique’s camp are yet to confirm the progress in talks, especially on subsequent part of the contract and other details but sources close to the former Barcelona boss have revealed he has accepted the offer but what remains are key contract clauses and staff selection – a part that will soon be thrashed out by both parties.
Former Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann, was set to take over the role at the French Ligue 1 champions but talks between him and the club collapse after a few round of negotiations.
PSG are therefore said to be very careful on the talks with Enrique on the final aspects of the deal to ensure a smooth and seamless process devoid of pitfalls that may lead to collapse.
Luis Enrique was linked to the vacant Chelsea job, including Julian Nagelsmann before they fell out of favor with Mauricio Pochettino landing the job.
Enrique was also linked to Tottenham job but was subsequently ruled out. The former Spain manager lost his job as Spain head coach in 2022 after he lost World Cup round of 16 clash against African bulwarks, Morocco.
He has not been able to land a job since then and will hope to return to the dugout with PSG when all parts of the proposed deal is sorted out.
Luis Enrique will replace Christophe Galtier as PSG manager after the latter was sacked following his Champions League deadlock despite winning the French Ligue 1 title for the second time as manager of the club.
