Manchester United have reached personal agreement with Sofyan Amrabat in what could be seen as a shock deal with the Moroccan midfielder, MySportDab reports.
Sofyan Amrabat emerged into the spotlights after he starred for Morocco national team in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He helped the team reach the 2022 World Cup semi-final, becoming the first African team to reach the last four of the World Cup.
Erik Ten Hag has been interested in Sofyan Amrabat not only because of his brilliant and standout display at the the 2022 World Cup but because he personally worked with the player while he was manager at Utrecht in Dutch league.
Sofyan Amrabat has made 49 appearances for Serie A side Fiorentina, completing 1426 passes. He is known for his strength and technical abilities in the midfield and is was one of the most experienced midfielders in Europe at this juncture.
Liverpool were also interested in Amrabat as the club looked set to overhaul their midfield this summer but Italian outlet Violanews says Manchester United have already reached personal agreement with Amrabat with Erik Ten Hag a big factor in the deal.
United have also been handed a big boost in their hunt for Amrabat as sources close to the player revealed he is open to Fiorentina exit this summer.
Amrabat was also linked to a move to Barcelona following his standout performance at the World Cup be it appears the Morocco international is closer to a reunion with his former manager Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United.
Fiorentina are ready to let Amrabat leave but are reportedly demanding €30m for the player as per reports from Italian outlets.
As of the time of filing this report, Manchester United are yet to launch an official bid for the player but are expected to do so soon in the coming days.
The club is currently chasing a deal to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana after signing Mason Mount from Chelsea for £55m as their first signing this season.
