They pushed up on the La Liga giants in their half and make several moves to find the back of the net but could not make their effort count.
Real Madrid retreated into their own half and were launching attacks via quick counters when with the ball as United continue to mount pressure.
Late in the second half, Manchester United’s hope of pulling a comeback was dented as Real Madrid doubled the lead with a late goal.
