Manchester United are in shock move for Marc Cucurella of Chelsea, MySportDab reports.
The out-of-favor former Barcelona academy graduate is top on Manchester United’s list of replacement options for Luke Shaw.
Manchester United confirmed Luke Shaw picked up a knock and will miss weeks of action for the club.
Luke Shaw was expected to miss Manchester United’s game against Nottingham Forest and the next game against Arsenal before the international break.
There were projections he will likely return to action after the international break.
However, a recent grim update on the injury condition reveals Shaw could face a longer spell on the sidelines than Manchester United thought.
Now, the club has been forced to plunge into the transfer market again to search for his replacement as soon as possible.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are eyeing a loan move for Marc Cucurella and have contacted Chelsea for the player.
Cucurella, 24, joined Chelsea last summer from Brighton under former manager Thomas Tuchel.
He has made 24 Premier League appearances for the club with two assist but have recently fell off the pecking order under Chelsea new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The likes of of Ben Chillwell and Ian Maatsen have earned the credits of Mauricio Pochettino ahead of Cucurella.
However, the Spaniard is reportedly unfazed by his misfortunes and is ready to challenge for a place in Chelsea’s lineup under Pochettino but could be open to a loan exit.
He is yet to return to action for Chelsea this season and has been benched in the club’s opening three fixtures.
Chelsea are open to Marc Cucurella’s departure with Man United ready to strike a season-long loan deal for the player.
