Tottenham have confirmed a grim injury update on Ivan Perisic, MySportDab reports
Tottenham Hotspur club statement Ivan Perisic has been ruled out of the remainder of the season for Spurs in what could be a big blow to Ange Postecoglou’s attempt on revamp.
The statement confirms Ivan Perisic picked up ACL injury on hisright knee and will spend months on the sidelines till the end of the season.
Perisic has been a crucial attacking option for Ange Postecoglou, who has worked wonders with Spurs, helping the club to an unbeaten start to the campaign in five matches.
The Croatian winger will be greatly missed by the Lilywhites as they set out to contest for a top four finish this season, having won four consecutive matches, since their opening draw against Bournemouth.
Perisic played his last match for Spurs against Sheffield United, helping the club. secure a late come-back against the Blades but will now miss the rest of the matches.
Despite the injury blow, Ange Postecoglou still has a lot of attacking options to fill the void but will likely miss the experience of the Croatian attacking midfielder.
The injury will also be a major setback for Perisic on his national team career with Croatia as he is a regular of Croatia’s call-ups for international action.
Perisic reached the World Cup final with Croatia in 2018 and also helped the team reach the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup.
