Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappe has no intention of signing a new contract extension amid Real Madrid transfer links, MySportDab reports.
Mbappe’s current PSG contract expires in 2022 but he is keen to leave the French league and face a new challenge.
At the end of last season, Mbappe hinted he could PSG anytime soon with Neymar almost securing a move away in the summer transfer window.
“I have learnt a lot during my time here, and I feel it is the right time to experience something new or a fresh challenge,” Mbappe insisted.
“I hope this can happen at Paris Saint-Germain Or maybe at a different place on a new project.”
Mbappe was stopped from leaving in the summer as clubs interested failed to submit a bid around PSG’s price value for their top quality asset.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, talks between Mbappe and PSG over a contract extension have not moved forward with the player unwilling to sign a new deal.
PSG owners are not ready to let Mbappe leave and are trying to avoid a summer transfer saga involving their most important player.
PSG Sporting director Leonardo revealed the club is ready to offer wages of up £21million per campaign in a new contract deal which could run until 2025.
However, there are fears Mbappe’s heart is already elsewhere despite his continued impressive performances each week.
Mbappe’s attitude in recent week has not been the best and is becoming more difficult to match his previous done works for the club.
Mbappe was not happy after he was substituted by coach Thomas Tuchel in the last matches which has resulted in some tensions.
PSG’s performance in the Champions League this campaign is likely to decide Mbappe’s future with the club yet to get back the quarter-final since the arab owners took over in 2013.
