Sandro Tonali Ban, Rehabilitation Plan, Return Date, Conditions [Full Details]

Sandro Tonali has been officially slammed with a 10-month ban from everything football after being indicted for illegal betting as a footballer, MySportDab reports.

Tonali, who joined Newcastle United for £54m from AC Milan in the summer, has already sealed his place in Newcastle United squad.

He played his last match for the club against Borussia Dortmund in Champions League on Wednesday.

We reportedly earlier his lawyers had negotiated a relatively safe landing for the Italian with a a reduced sentence after he admitted to suffering gambling addiction and also cooperated with the authorities.

Now, details of his ban as officially communicated by Italian authorities reveal Sandro Tonali will miss the rest of the 2023/24 season for Newcastle United as he will serve the 10-month ban.

His estimated date of return for action for Newcastle United is on August 24, 2024 when the ban must have expired.

He is also mandated to undergo a compulsory 8-month rehabilitation plan and will be undergoing the rehabilitation concurrently while serving the ban.

He will be allowed to train with Newcastle United despite the ban to keep himself fit but will not feature in games for the club.

In addition to missing the rest of the 2023/24 season for Newcastle United, Sandro Tonali will miss out of 2024 Euros – the only major national team tournamnent he will miss.

MySportDab understand Newcastle United have been unsettled by Tonali’s ban and were reportedly considering legal action against AC Milan.

However, it is still unclear whether they will progress with the legal suit but there have been reports from sources close to the club that they are considering suspending wage payments to Tonali since he will not be available for the club.
