Real Madrid have booked their ticket for the knockout round of 2023/24 Champions League with a convincing victory over Portuguese side Braga, MySportDab reports.
The La Liga and European giants got off the mark against Braga with a top-notch performance from the start but they had the resilience of the Portuguese side to wrestle off.
Braga were fully in the game as it kicked off and nearly took the lead just 6 minutes into the game when Real Madrid conceded a penalty.
Djalo missed the spotkick and had the away side punished 21 minutes later when Brahim Diaz fired Real Madrid into the lead.
The hosts went into the first half break with the narrow lead and a more superior display.
The second half was a full rout for Real Madrid who scored a quickfire double to put the game beyond the visitors.
Few minutes into the second half, Vinicius Jr came up clutch for the Laliga giants with a brilliant goal.
Three minutes after Vinicius Jr’s goal, Rodrygo registered his name on the scoresheet for the home side to make it 3-0.
In a flash, Braga trailed the European giants by three unreplied goals and it was a gameover for the visitors as Real Madrid looked set to cruise to a comfortable win and book their round 16 ticket.
Braga made concerted efforts to break the goal deadlock but were overwhelmed by a more clinical display by the Ancelotti-led boys.
Despite securing a comfortable lead, Real Madrid maintained a dominant display and were a no match for the Portuguese contingents.
Braga failed to find the back of the net after the final whistle and ended up losing by the three unreplied goals thanks to goals from Brahim Diaz, Vinicius Jr, and Rodrygo.
The victory makes it 4 wins in 4 group matches for Real Madrid. Los Blanco have now joined other elite clubs to seal a place in round 16 of the tournament.
