Chelsea have been handed a big boost in their pursuit of in-demand and highly-rated Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, MySportDab reports.

Osimhen banged in 25 goals for Napoli last season to help the club end their 33 years wait for Serie A trophy. He won Serie A Golden Boot, and has been recently crowned as the Italian Footballers’ Association Best Player in the 2022/23 season.

Chelsea are hopeful of adding a striker in the pedigree of Osimhen to their attacking line-up with a January move for the player under consideration.

It is not the first time the London club have indicated interest in signing Victor Osimhen.

They were linked to the player this summer and were in for a deal with Napoli but backed out due to Napoli’s valuation of the player.

With January transfer window at the corners, Chelsea are in again for Osimhen move with reports the club are ready to go all out for the player.

Chelsea’s transfer interest in Osimhen has been handed a big boost with a latest report by Fabrizio Romano revealing Osimhen is not likely to renew his contract with Napoli.

Osimhen has two years remaining on his Napoli contract with the club interested in a new contract as they consider Osimhen key to the team.

With the Nigerian striker not ready for a new deal, Napoli may be forced to part ways with Osimhen instead of losing him on a free transfer.

Victor Osimhen has not hid his intentions of making the big move to the Premier League and was candid about his admiration for Chelsea.

Napoli value Victor Osimhen in excess of £100m. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will break the bank again add the prolific Nigerian forward to their piling list of expensive signings.
