AC Milan came from behind to beat Newcastle United 1-2 but failed to qualify for Champions League round 16, MySportDab reports.

Both teams had the same chances of making it through into the next round coming into kickoff which saw them giving a good account.

Milan effort could only see them finish bottom of the group with goal difference pushing them out of making Europa League which could have been better.

It was all about the Premier League side who had cause of celebration in the first half which they dominated and played so well.

AC Milan came into the game knowing a win for them will guarantee them chances of making it into the knockout stages pending other result going their way.

Newcastle United were in no rush as they played calmly with them also looking at qualification which was what three teams in the group had coming into the final games.

Joelinton scored for the Premier League side in the 33rd minute after some incredible opportunities they were able to make things 1-0 as they pushed on.

Newcastle United were good as they were cruising heading into the break with a 1-0 lead against AC Milan who had their moments but it was enough to bring a goal.

The second half brought about a comeback fight which was seen from the away team who had to ensure that tried everything from their end to make things happen.

AC Milan continued to push and create opportunities which couldn’t materialize to anything as the game continued to go slowly into the one-hour mark which wasn’t a good look.

Christian Pulisic stunner in the 59th minutes brought about some hopes for the away side as Newcastle United were left open resulting in the goal which made things 1-1.

There was tension on the pitch and both managers deploying some changes to ensure there was some difference and pressure from their side to try take the lead.

Samuel Chukwueze scored with a brilliant finish in the 84th minutes which saw the game turn around as AC Milan ended up claiming the win 1-2 against Newcastle United but failed to advance as they finish third.
