Firmino and Benzema are elite strikers who left the shores of Europe to Saudi Arabia last summer. As per reports from Saudi sources, Firmino and Benzema are struggling to adapt to life in Saudi Arabia, and are open to a possible return to Europe.
Firmino left Liverpool for Al-Ahli, joining the club as a free agent on a three-year contract. He started his Saudi career with a bang, scoring a hat-trick on his debut.
However, the tides of have turned since then. His hat-trick happened to be his only goal for the club in his 17 appearances for the club.
With the dragging goal drought, he has been reportedly frustrated at the club and is reportedly exploring alternatives for a possible return to Europe.
Karim Benzema, who also left Europe on a free transfer from Real Madrid, is struggling with a difficult spell with Al Ittihad. Benzema deactivated his social media handle after Al Ittihad lost Saudi Pro League match to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
He is also interested on a return to Europe. Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the two players on loan to boost their attack.
Elsewhere, Liverpool legend Jordan Henderson is also linked with a return to Europe after a difficult stint with Al-Etiffaq.
