Pep Guardiola Addresses Man City Future After Jurgen Klopp Exit!

Pep Guardiola has confirmed his decision on his Manchester City hours after his counterpart at Liverpool Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to step down at the end of the season, MySportDab reports.

Responding to queries from journalists after Manchester City edged out Tottenham in FA Cup, Guardiola revealed he will stay through his contract duration at Manchester City and may likely sign a new deal when his current contract expires.

 

Pep Guardiola joined Manchester City in 2016 and the rest has been history. He orchestrated a collosal transformation of Manchester City from domestic minnows in English football to giants.

In his seven-year stint with City, Guardiola has won five Premier League titles, five EFL Cup, two FA Cups, and three Community Shields to establish the club as the new giants in English football.

Last season, the Spaniard led Manchester City to their first Champions League and first treble and added the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to the club’s trophy room as well.

Following his exceptional spell with the Cityzens, MySportDab understands the former Bayern Munich manager has the full backing of Manchester City’s hierarchy.

In 2023, the 52-year-old pen down a new contract with Manchester City till 2025. He has one-and-a-half-year left on his deal.

With an enduring success story with the club, the Spaniard will be expected to continue on the reins but it is yet to be determined whether he will call it a quit when his current contract expires.

Before the recent presser on his future after Tottenham Hotspur match, Guardiola last hinted on his Manchester City future during last summer’s exit of the club’s former captain IIkay Gundogan.

The Spaniard revealed he wanted to leave Manchester City with IIkay Gundogan and had tried to woe the German to sign a new contract and stay longer with the club.
