Arsenal’s Move For Ajax Youngster Jorrel Hato Suffers SETBACK!

Arsenal have been dealt a heavy blow in their move for Ajax youngster Jorrel Hato, MySportDab reports.

The Gunners made a move for Jorrel Hato as a replacement for injured Jurrien Timber, who is still recovering on the sidelines after picking up an injury early this season.

Hato, 17, who can both as a center-back and left-back, was also primed as a long term target to back up Arsenal defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Known for his prolific defending skills, exceptional strength, agility and versatility at the back, Hato has been a top target for top clubs in Europe but the Gunners were reportedly on the pole position to sign the player, as per The Telegraph.

After securing the services of Jurrien Timber, Arsenal were hopeful of leveraging a possible reunion between Hato and Jurrien Timber to convince the the player to switch to the Emirates Stadium.

However, the only hurdle for a possible deal was the decision of Ajax, who were poised to keep the player having sell out Jurrien Timber.

Now, According to ESPN, Arsenal have been dealt a severe blow in their pursuit for Hato as the player is set to sign a new contract with Ajax next month.

The report reveals Jorrel Hato and Ajax have already agree on a new four-year contract till 2028.

Hato is 17 and will turn 18 on March 7, 2024. It is understood he will put pen to paper for the new contract by then when he will clock 18.

Jorrel Hato has been a standout performer for Ajax this season and has started all games for the Eredivisie outfit since his breakout.

Jorrel Hato had one-and-a-half-year left o his contract amidst interest by Arsenal but will noe extend his stay with the club till 2028.

However, it is not an entirely closed route for Arsenal as they Gunners could still broker a deal for the player but must scrape pass the hurdle of agreeing terms with Ajax for the player.
