BREAKING! Crystal Palace Announce Oliver Glasner As New Manager

Crystal Palace have announced Austrian football veteran Oliver Glasner as the club’s new manager an hour after confirming the resignation of Roy Hodgson, MySportDab reports.

The former SV Ried, Lask, Wolfsburg, and Eintracht Frankfurt manager will take charge of Crystal Palace succeeding English football veteran, Roy Hodgson.

The 49-year-old Austrian has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract till 2026 and has been handed the immediate task of helping the Eagles stay up the elite division.

Crystal Palace reportedly turned to Oliver Glasner when attempts to contract previous managers in English football failed.

Former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper and former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui were reportedly contacted for the job but all decline the offer.

Glasner is regarded as one of the most successful Austrian football managers having managed SV Reid and Lask before moving to the Bundesliga.

His signature achievement as a manager was leading Lask from a second-tier club in Austrian league to a the elite division, and moving up the ladder in the Austrian football to qualify for Europe.

In his fourth season as Lask manager, Glasner earned a spot in Champions League qualifiers – one of the club’s biggest achievements.

After his spell with Lask, he moved to German football, where he managed Wolfsburg. At Wolfsburg, the Austrian tactician qualified the club for Champions League.

After his spell with Wolfsburg, he was appointed as Eintracht Frankfurt manager. He led the team to their first European trophy in decades when he won the Europa League in 2022.

He also qualified for Champions League the following year and reach the German Cup final. Oliver Glasner will be hoping to replicate his standout managerial feat as he takes up a new challenge in the Premier League.
