Liverpool got off the mark with a resounding 5-1 win over Slavia Prague in Europa League round-16 first-leg in Czech Republic, MySportDab reports.

The Reds blew away the Czech giants with another masterclass performance to keep up their push for a historic quadruple this season.

Mac Allister scored the first goal for the away side after he won and converted a penalty in the 7th minute to make it 1-0.

Despite taking the lead, the Reds were still on the ascendancy going forward and it wasn’t long before they doubled and extended the lead.

Darwin Nunez scored the next two goals of the game to set the Reds en route to a big win over the Czech Republic outfit.

It was still a rout for Liverpool as Slavia Prague struggle to hold off a rampant and free-rolling Liverpool attacking arsenal.

It would have been another three-goal haul for Liverpool in the second half but substitute Mo Salah’s goal was canceled after VAR check.

Luis Diaz found the back of the net for the Merseyside club in their first goal in the second half before Dominik Szoboszlai added to the tally late in added time to make it 5-1.

Qarabag did find a consolation goal to reduce the deficit but they are literally out of the competition as they will face a huge task of reversing the four-goal deficit in the second-leg at Anfield next week.

Liverpool will hope to maintain their winning run when they host Manchester City at Anfield for a top-of-the-table Premier League clash that could define the destination of the 2024/24 Premier League title.
