England national team manager Gareth Southgate has reacted to reports linking him to Man United job, MySportDab reports.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over United’s sporting and footballing operations, there has been a swift and sweeping changes in the ranks of functionaries.

Former United CEO Richard Arnold tendered his resignation just before Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.3bn stake for 25% shares of the club was ratified.

Days after securing his partial ownership bid, Ratcliffe got off the mark with a statement and groundbreaking recruitment, bringing onboard Omar Berrada – a former top football functionary for United’s cross-city rivals Manchester City.

Proceedings are ongoing for another high-power recruitment with Newcastle United’s sporting director Dan Ashworth on the radar.

Sir Jim’s move for Dan Ashworth has spewed speculations that Gareth Southgate could be the next on line to become Manchester United manager should Sir Jim decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag.

Dan Ashworth and Garth Southgate are said to be close associates having worked together in England national team.

Dan Ashworth is primed to take over the sports directorship at Manchester United and will oversee sundry roles covering player and managers’ recruitment at Manchester United.

As a close ally to Southgate, rumors surfaced that he would opt for the England boss as Man United manager after sealing a move to Old Trafford.

However, Southgate has come out to debunk the rumors while preparing England for international friendlies against Brazil on March 23 and Belgium on March 26.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Southgate said;

Man United links? They have a manager and it’d be extremely disrespectful to talks about that”.

“I’m the England manager. I’ve got one job, to try and deliver a European championship”.

“I have nothing to say”.

Gareth Southgate has contract with England national team till the end of 2024 Euros and will be free for new offers after the continental showpiece.
