Manchester United have opened investigations into the grinding injury crisis that has rocked the team this season, MySportDab reports.

Erik ten Hag confirmed the investigations in his press conference ahead of United’s Premier League cracker against Chelsea on Thursday, April 4.

“We have an idea but we will work on it. Internally, we will deal with it,” he said when asked about the club’s injury problems.

We reported earlier Manchester United have been hit with a double injury blow ahead of the Chelsea clash.

Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof have been ruled out of action for one month due to injuries.

Martinez has been on a two-month injury layoff before returning to action for United in the 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday.

He came on as a substitute for Victor Lindelof who limped off injured in the 69th minute against the Bees.

Reports from Manchester United’s medical team confirmed the pair will miss weeks of action for United due to injuries but will be back in May.

While Lindelof picked up his injury during the Brentford match, Lisandro Martinez is said to have been injured while training on Tuesday, April 2 ahead of the Chelsea clash.

The double injury blow for United has taken the club’s injury tally, as compiled by Transfermarkt, to 55.

The scary injury stats has prompted the club to finally launch an investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the problem, as per the Mirror.

It is understood United’s injury crisis has contributed to the team’s less-than-stellar campaign this season with key players facing alternating fortunes to and fro the sidelines.

Only Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes have reportedly escaped the incessant and recurrent injury crisis that has rocked the team.

Lisandro Martinez has been among the worst-hit and has played for just 589 minutes in his 9  Premier League appearances this season while Tyrell Malacia has recorded 0 minutes.
