Former Premier League forward and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud is set to open a new chapter in his career away from Europe, MySportDab reports.

The French footballer, who has enjoyed a sterling individual career in top European clubs, is set to exit AC Milan in the summer as a free agent to Major League Soccer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Olivier Giroud has sealed a move to MLS giants Los Angeles FC, having signed a contract with the club ahead of his imminent exit from AC Milan.

A breakdown of the forward’s contract details shows the former Chelsea and Arsenal forward has penned down a one-and-a-half-year deal with the MLS side till 2025.

He will join the MLS outfit at the end of the season with the contract set to expire in December 2025 when MLS next season’s campaign will come to an end.

According to ESPN, Olivier Giroud will earn approximately £3.2m throughout his contract with Los Angeles.

The move will see the Serie A winner reunite with his French compatriot and former teammate in France’s national team, Hugo Lloris, who left Tottenham in the summer for Los Angeles.

Giroud’s MLS move will draw the curtain on his heroic career in Europe’s top leagues. The French footballer rose to prominence in 2012 when he clinched the Ligue 1 title with Montpelier.

He was spotlighted for his standout performance by the then Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who signed him from Montpelier.

At Arsenal, Giroud took his career to soaring new levels, helping the Gunners clinch two FA Cup trophies before he switched to the Blue side of London, joining Chelsea.

At Chelsea, Giroud smashed the Champions League, Europa League, and the FA Cup before moving to AC Milan in Serie A in 2021.

He won the Italian topflight in his first season with the club and has been phenomenal for the Rossoneri throughout his three-year stint with the club.

The prolific forward will hope to continue on his elite-level performance as he sets out for a new exciting challenge with Los Angeles in the MLS.
