Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood has broken his silence on his football future as his loan spell with Getafe comes to an end, MySportDab reports.

United opted to have the youngster continue his career away from Old Trafford despite coming out clean from the club’s internal investigations into sexual assault allegations against him in 2022.

He was sent on a six-month short term loan to Getafe to restart his career away from the protests from aggrieved United fan groups who did not want him back at Old Trafford.

At Getafe, Greenwood turned a corner away from his 18-month exile to record his best career tally of 14 goal contributions in a single season.

Following his groundbreaking return to footballing action, some United fans have clamoured for his return to the club.

And speculations have been rife on the player’s next destination after his loan spell with the Madrid-based outfit.

Amidst speculations on his future, Greenwood took to social media to break his silence as he bids farewell to Getafe.

”Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season,’ he wrote on Instagram.

”Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my team-mates and club.

”A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you. I wish you all the best”

While his farewell message made clear his decision to leave Getafe, MySportDab understood Getafe have been in the running to retain the prolific forward on another loan deal – a move that has been reportedly turned down by United who want to sell the player permanently, as per reports.

Before Greenwood’s hint on his future with his farewell message to Getafe, The Sun reported the English winger had decided to sell up his £2million home in Cheshire -an affirmation he has come to the end of his career with Manchester United.

It is understood United want a permanent exit solution for the player this summer with one-year contract left on his deal.
