The latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking has been released, reflecting a dynamic period in women’s international football, MySportDab Reports.

Over the last three months, 154 international matches were played, significantly influencing the rankings across the globe.

In Africa, the qualifiers for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 were a major highlight. Europe also saw intense competition with the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 qualifiers.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons continue to reign as Africa’s premier team, retaining their position as the continent’s best. Globally, they remain at 36th, unchanged from the previous ranking. During this period, Nigeria showcased their prowess by securing a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Super Falcons triumphed in one match and drew another in their two-game series against South Africa. However, these results did not impact their global ranking.

Despite their recent setback against Nigeria, South Africa’s Banyana Banyana holds on as the second-best team in Africa and ranks 51st globally. Their position reflects their resilience and consistent performance on the continental stage.

Morocco, the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) finalists, experienced a slight drop, moving to 59th in the world rankings but maintaining their status as the third-ranked team in Africa. This dip comes despite their strong showings in recent tournaments.

Zambia has achieved a significant milestone, climbing to 64th in the global rankings, their highest ever. This leap sees them surpassing Ghana, now 65th globally, and Cameroon, who are positioned at 68th. Zambia’s rise is a testament to their growing strength in women’s football.

The top ten teams in Africa are rounded out by Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Mali, and Equatorial Guinea, who continue to show promise and potential in their rankings.

The next FIFA Women’s World Ranking update is set for August 16, 2024. As teams prepare for upcoming international fixtures and tournaments, these rankings will serve as a benchmark for their progress and ambitions.
