Chippa United assistant coach, Thabo September, has hinted that Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali might continue his career in South Africa despite attracting interest from clubs abroad, MySportDab Reports.

Nwabali, 28, rose to prominence after an outstanding performance at the AFCON 2023 tournament, where he kept four clean sheets in seven matches, helping Nigeria secure a second-place finish in Ivory Coast.

Following his impressive tournament, Nwabali received offers from several clubs across Africa and beyond. However, the former Enyimba goalkeeper has stated that he is carefully considering his options to make the best decision for his future.

With the South African Premier Soccer League set to begin after the international break next month, September revealed that Nwabali might remain with Chippa United, where he has become a key figure.

“We all want Stanley to progress to the next level and achieve bigger things,” September said in an interview with FARPost. “He plays so well because he’s aiming for a bigger move. The management, the chairman, and everyone at the club want that for him. But for now, he’s still with us and is being the professional he always is. He’s training well and preparing for the upcoming season.”

September emphasized that while the club supports Nwabali’s potential move, no concrete offers have been confirmed. “I don’t know of anything specific on the table right now, but all I want is the best for Stanley. He deserves it for all the hard work he’s put in,” he added.

Nwabali’s performance at AFCON 2023 has renewed confidence in Nigeria’s goalkeeping options, resolving previous doubts in that position. Whether he stays with Chippa United or makes a move abroad, Nwabali’s future looks promising.
