Scotland held on fine before Scott McTominay gave them the lead in the 7th minute after a nice assist from McLean which made things 0-1 between them.

It was a struggle for Portugal who kept their captain on the bench to ensure he was getting enough rest after playing their previous match.

Both sides had more moments but none could make anything much as Scotland headed for the break with a 0-1 lead against Portugal.

It was a very difficult half for Scotland as they saw their lead being taken away while the pressure kept on coming over and over again on them.

Cristiano Ronaldo came to the rescue when it mattered most as he scored a shocker in the 88th minute ensuring they took a 2-1 lead.

The buildup to the goal was perfect with Nuno Mendes ensuring he made the assist come through the way it would be finished neatly.
