Manchester United winger Antony has asked to leave the club this summer, MySportDab reports.

The Brazilian footballer is reportedly ‘desperate’ to exit United to try and reawaken his dwindling career at Old Trafford.

He has endured a torrid spell with United after an initially brilliant start to life and has fallen down the pecking order lately.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been optimistic of the prospects of the £86m signing from Ajax. The Dutch has continuously expressed his confidence on the capability of the player.

However, it appears all is still not going as planned. According to The Sun, the club have agreed to Antony’s call to leave but only on a loan deal.

In Manchester United’s three opening matches to the season, Antony has played for just 60 seconds and is likely to struggling for game time with his dwindling form. This has informed the decision to let him leave on loan until the end of the campaign.

Several clubs were reportedly interested in the player. Now, ccording to The Sun, Fenerbahce, who are now managed by former United boss Jose Mourinho, are now leading the race to sign the player.

Antony has contract  with Manchester United until 2027 and earns £200,000 weekly at the club. United can partially take off a huge chunk of his wages off the books should they reach an agreement with Fenerbache for the player.

Since joining the club in 2022, Antony has made 83 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.

He is currently down the pecking order in Erik ten Hag’s attacking options at United and will require the loan move to Fenerbache to revitalize his career.

A move to Fenerbache could also see the player link with his former teammate at Man United Dani Fred, who left the club on a permanent move to the Turkish outfit in 2023.
