Manchester United have settled for a barren draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League, MySportDab reports.

United’s screeching start to the season continued at the Villa Park against the high-flying Aston Villa.

It was an uneventful clash with little clearcut chances created by both sides. Aston Villa had a good spell of possession but struggled to break Man United’s brick-wall defense.

United also had a slew of chances but couldn’t make them count. The first half ended with both sides settling for a barren drawn.

The second half was no different. Aston Villa maintained their superior performance but struggled to make the dominance count.

Things went nervy towards the final minutes with pressure building in United’s half. The hosts latched on scores of clearcut chances but still struggled to convert them.

Meanwhile, United managed four attempts on target with just 40% of the ball possession. Kobbie Mainoo, Christian Eriksen, Harry Maguire all picked up yellow cards in the first half. Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof also saw yellow in the second half.

The game finally ended with United settling for a 0-0 draw – their second draw in a row after midweek 3-3 draw with Porto in the UEFA Europa League.

The result marks another low in what has been a disappointing campaign for Erik ten Hag. They have now gone five matches without victory since their 7-0 EFL Cup win over Barnsley on September 17, 2024.

Erik ten Hag will hope to turn things when they return to action  against Brentford on October 19, 2024 after the international break.

The team currently sit 14th on the Premier League table with 8 points from seven Premier League matches.
