Ruben Amorim’s slated resumption date at Man United as manager has been delayed, MySportDab reports.

The former Sporting Lisbon manager was set to resume as United manager on Tuesday, November 11, 2024.

He is slated to arrive in Manchester with his coaching staff today and take over the reins as soon as possible.

Now, according to a report from Daily Mail, he will not be able to resume as Man United manager tomorrow due to the nature of diplomatic relations between Britain and Portugal.

He will require a work permit by UK authorities to kickoff his reign as the Red Devil’ boss and at the time of filing this report, United have yet to work out the document for him.

Nevertheless, he is expected to land at the club with his contingent today but will wait a little longer than scheduled to resume work.

Meanwhile, United are confident of sorting out the work permit as soon as possible to get him to prepare the team for his first match against Ipswich Town on November 24, 2024.

It is understood the club will not unveil him officially as the new manager until his pre-match press conference for the Ipswich match.

He will be expected to be on an interview with the club’s in-house media before resuming in the dugout.

Amorim took charge of his last game as Sporting Lisbon manager on Sunday, November 8, 2024, leading the club to a 4-2 away victory over Braga.

The win saw Sporting maintain their perfect start this season to maintain their grip on top of the Primeira Liga table.

United fans are simmering with confidence in the expected new era under the highly-rated Portuguese tactician.

He is renowned for transforming Sporting Lisbon into the most formidable side in Portuguese football, with two Primeira Liga titles and back-to-back Taca da Liga trophies in four years.
