Super Eagles and AJ Auxerre defender Gabriel Adedayo Osho has shared his admiration for the wealth of talent within Nigeria’s senior national football team, MySportDab Reports

The former Luton Town player, who received his first call-up to the Super Eagles squad in March 2024, was unable to make his debut at the time due to an injury setback.

Osho joined Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre after Luton Town’s relegation from the English Premier League, and he has been an integral figure in their defense this season.

The 26-year-old has started all nine league matches, helping Auxerre secure a commendable ninth-place position in the French league table.

His consistent performances earned him another invitation to the Super Eagles camp, where he has been left in awe of the talent surrounding him.

“Just look at our frontline,” Osho remarked in an interview with NFF Media. “You see all the players who are here and others who couldn’t make the squad this time. Nigeria is blessed with an incredible pool of talented players, which makes it highly competitive to earn a call-up. It’s a huge honor for me, knowing there are so many exceptional Nigerian players who aren’t here.”

Reflecting on his journey, Osho, who previously played for Reading and Rochdale, expressed pride in representing Nigeria on the international stage.

Both he and his former Luton teammate Elijah Adebayo voiced a strong desire to play for the Super Eagles last season. However, Adebayo, now facing challenges in the EFL Championship, has yet to receive an international call-up.

Osho’s remarks underscore the Super Eagles’ growing depth in quality, as the Nigerian national team continues to draw from a rich talent pool across Europe.
