Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has blasted the club’s owners over his dragging contract saga, MySportDab reports.

Salah has a few months left on his contract with the Reds and will be free to enter into pre-contract talks with other clubs in January 2025.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have yet to begin talks on a new deal for the player with the two-time African Footballer of the Year feeling disappointed on how the club have handled the matter.

Speaking after firing the club to an 8-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a brace against Southampton on Sunday, Salah said he is disappointed that the club have yet to offer him a new contract despite having barely seven months left on his deal.

According to him, he had always wanted to continue his career with the club and was hopeful of signing a new contract.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Salah added he wasn’t planning to retire hence was expecting the new offer. He further clarified that he is more likely to leave at the end of the season than stay.

“We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” he said.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

“Of course, yeah. I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see.”

Salah has scored 10 goals with 12 assists in 18 games for Liverpool this season and is leading the charge as the club show no sign of slowing down in the race for the 2024-25 Premier League title.

However, as thing stand, he is likely to leave at the end of the season with no new contract in place.

MySportDab understands Salah is not the only Liverpool player whose contract will expire at the end of the season. Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will also run out their contracts at the end of the season with no new deal in place for both.

Despite  the uncertainties surrounding Salah’s future at Anfield, the Egyptian forward is still open to a new deal with the Reds before his contract expires.
