Liverpool manager Arne Slot has broken his silence on the future of prolific winger Mohamed Salah at the club, MySportDab reports.

Salah has been linked to an exit from Liverpool this summer as the club has yet to initiate moves to renew his contract.

The Reds’ main man scored his 10th goal in the Premier League this season, leading the club’s dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Southampton with a brace.

Speaking after the game, Salah was overly pessimistic of his future at Liverpool saying he is more out than in since he has yet to renew his contract with a few months left.

However, he added that he is still open to signing a new contract and extending his stay with the club.

Salah’s comment has been met with a barrage of reactions with former Liverpool star and Premier League pundit Jamie Garragher describing the player as ‘selfish’ for prioritizing his contract instead of helping the club focus on the Premier League title race.

For Liverpool manager Arne Slot, Salah still remains key to his plans with his contract situation not a distraction to the team.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the former Feyenoord boss said;

“Mo Salah’s future? I’ve said many times I don’t comment about contracts”.

“Only thing I can say is… if I look at my line-ups, Mo Salah is more in than out!”.

“I don’t think there is any distraction for him, the players and definitely not for me.”

Mohamed Salah has seven months left on his Liverpool contract and will be open to enter into pre-contract talks with other clubs in January. He is leading the club’s charge for the 2024-25 Premier League and has started all Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League matches this season under Slot.

Meanwhile, he is not the only top Liverpool that has yet to renew his contract. England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dutch center-back Virgil van Dijk will both run out of their contracts as well at the end of the season and have yet to renew their deals.

Sources close to the club have revealed the Reds are hopeful of keeping all the three players with talks for new contracts set to be underway.
