Hakim Ziyech has fallen out with Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk and has vowed to leave the club in the January transfer window, MySportDab reports.
The former Chelsea star joined the Super Lig champions in 2023 after falling out of favour in Chelsea’s squad under ex-Blues’ boss Graham Potter.
Away from his deadlock in London with the Blues, Ziyech was received heroically by Galatasaray fans and got off the mark with spates of brilliant performances.
He scored 8 goals with 4 assists in 23 appearances and was a key part of the team’s title-winning campaign.
However, it appears the purple patch is now over with the player pushing to leave the club in the January transfer window .
In an interview with Turkish journalist, Ziyech didn’t mince words registering his displeasure over how things are going at the club and his desire to leave as soon as possible.
”Galatasaray is over for me. I don’t want to play here anymore. I’m leaving in January,” he said in the interview.
He went on to lashed out at the club’s coach Buruk for the low level at which the latter is operating
“I’ve never seen a coach of such a low level. I don’t care that much… I want to be left alone, no matter what happens. I regret coming here,” he added.
Ziyech’s outburst is related to his dwindling fortunes with the Turkish giants this season.
Unlike his standout debut campaign last term, the Morocco international has fallen out of favor in Okan Buruk’s setup this season.
He has managed just 8 appearances for the team this season, starting just one of those matches.
After an initial loan move, Ziyech signed a one-year permanent contract with an extension option with Galatasaray.
He has a few months left on his contract but he could now leave in January 2025 before the end of the campaign.
Overall, he has made 33 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 8 goals with 5 assists.
