The scoring opened in the 23rd minute when Luis Díaz headed in a precise cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold, giving Liverpool an early lead.
The advantage was doubled in the 36th minute as Alexis Mac Allister capitalized on a deflected cross, nodding the ball past Fraser Forster.
Tottenham responded in the 41st minute with a long-range effort from James Maddison, narrowing the deficit to 2-1.
However, Liverpool restored their two-goal cushion just before halftime; a swift counter-attack culminated in Mohamed Salah assisting Dominik Szoboszlai, who finished clinically to make it 3-1.
The second half saw Liverpool maintain their offensive momentum. In the 54th minute, Salah extended the lead to 4-1.
His goal saw him equaling Billy Liddell as Liverpool’s fourth-highest all-time goalscorer with his 228th goal for the club.
Seven minutes later, Salah surpassed Liddell, netting his 229th goal after a well-executed setup by Szoboszlai, bringing the score to 5-1.
Tottenham attempted a comeback with goals from Dejan Kulusevski in the 72nd minute and Dominic Solanke in the 83rd, reducing Liverpool’s lead to 5-3.
However, any hopes of a revival were dashed when Díaz scored his second goal of the match in the 85th minute, assisted by Salah, sealing the 6-3 victory for Liverpool.
Liverpool extended their lead in the Premier League standings, placing them four points ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand.
The victory is one which could see the club entering into the second half of the season with a far distance against other teams on the table.
