The game was evenly balanced, with a lot happening until a rash tackle saw a penalty being awarded; Mohamed Salah took responsibility for it and scored to restore the advantage to 2-1 in the 83rd minute.
The match was far from over as new signing Darwin Nunez came in from the bench to score a late beauty in the 90th minute plus added time which further increased the advantage to 3-1.
The encounter ended with Liverpool claiming a 3-1 win against Manchester City to lift the 2022-23 Community Shield after a fantastic match that wasn’t so easy.
